An interactive concert series designed to build and foster intergenerational connection.
What is Musical Conversations?
Musical Conversations is a concert series that partners with community hubs to bridge the gap between generations through intergenerational programming centered around the shared appreciation and experience of music. Each program features performances curated to spark dialogues about music, creating a communal space for shared reflections that brings audiences of different life stages together and leads to impactful, lasting relationships.
Active in the Greater Boston area since 2024, Musical Conversations has connected audiences of older adults with middle and high schoolers through community partners including Hebrew Senior Life, Jamaicaway Tower & Townhouses, and multiple private and public schools. Designed to best serve each community’s needs, Musical Conversations programs have been adapted as one-time workshops showcasing the cello, regular discussion groups focusing on musical memories, and a series of educational performance lectures on the history of classical music.
Who is Musical Conversations for?
Created with the goal of connecting people across generations, Musical Conversations programs take place in community hubs and are accessible and welcoming to audiences of all ages and backgrounds. Each performance of classical music is presented in an informative and approachable way, and repertoire encompasses well-known classical pieces to works by underrepresented composers. Discussions questions are tailored to prompt connections between the unique ages and backgrounds of participants; previous audiences have included memory care residents, middle and high school students, and retired professionals.
For audience members who experience difficulties with hearing, vision, mobility, or other impairments or disabilities, programs are facilitated in a flexible manner that ensures that each participant is able to engage with every performance, discussion, and interaction. Programs are easily adaptable to various group sizes and locations, ranging from intimate circles of 10 or less participants to larger settings of 30+ participants that break off into smaller groups to discuss.

Having been active in the Boston community since 2024, Musical Conversations is now expanding to Atlanta, Georgia with the support of New England Conservatory’s Entrepreneurial Musicianship Department! I am currently seeking partnerships with local community hubs and organizations to offer Musical Conversations programming to serve and connect audiences in the Greater Atlanta community.
